My computer was acting up last night and so I was not able to send out my diet report. So here is last night post. (Today is my last day..whohoo!)
I have completed day 9. I am down nine pounds. Only one more day, and I surely am ready to eat! I have been spending some time in my Nourishing Traditions cookbook. Thinking through ways I
want to use this as a springboard for healthier eating. I have made a partial grocery list for our shopping tomorrow night...
and I am ready. One more day of the lemonade. Then Friday I get to eat again. I am getting the ingredients for a
vegi soup that I have been told is marvelous and that will be my first "meal", but first my breakfast Friday gets to be
orange juice. I have felt well today. My mind this afternoon and tonight has been amazingly clear. Things are going great, even with
Stef deciding to pull out an old family recipe of her's and use it tonight of oven fried chicken and mashed potatoes. Ahem.
I am truly grateful to her for taking over the kitchen for me while I have been on this. That has made this so much easier for me.
Love ya, Stef! So on to day 10!
P.S Dbo lost his "first tooth" it's actually his second because his other came out by accident, this is his first "natural"
one. Tonight he found change in the van and said "here Dad", he wanted to give it to him to use to put under his pillow! LOL!
Have you ever heard of a child giving the daddy the treat to use under the pillow? Only my D.

I *love* the cookbook Nourishing Traditions - it's fantastic! :) I've been implementing a lot of her methods into our diet and making major changes to what we eat. I especially like the soaked grains/breads and think they sound a lot more healthy and easier for our bodies to digest. We have soaked porridge (oats) every morning for breakfast and they taste lovely. The soaked pancakes are good too - we've done wheat & buckwheat togtether (freshly ground). And I'm doing her sourdough bread too. The soaked biscuits (scones) are very nice as well! Once you get into the routine of soaking your flour for 12-24 hours first, it really takes no more time - just have to think ahead what you're going to be baking! I've been meaning to write a blog post all about these things (and even took photos of our sourdough bread being mixed/rising etc!) but haven't found the time yet to organise a post!
Rachel, thanks for the encouragment. I am excited to try it. I am also going to make homemade yogurt and Kombucha. Kefir too at some point. So the soaking is good? That's good to know. I think we are going to try the basic muffin recipe first. After not eating for 10 days, I am eager to get in the kitchen. LOL! Stefanie does most of my kitchen stuff for me. I think Nourishing Traditions is like an encyclopedia of information. When I first read it I was so excited about BUTTER of all things! Hope all is well there!
