Take me out to the ballgame!

I have to say it is nice to have another blogger in the house.  I think I need to officially call Stef my inhouse journalist.  Especially now between morning sickness and schooling, it is nice for Stef to be able to put pics and videos up!  We had a great time last Monday going to the baseball game.  The children got free tickets and were in a parade because of taking part in the summer reading program.  Here is a slideshow that Stef put together...

So Beautiful

Another homeschool mommy Liz in her post wrote the lyrics of this Steven Curtis Chapman song. It was so beautiful that I went to YouTube and found it. This was made for Mothers Day and I know it is not Mother's Day, but I still wanted to post it. This is dedicated to my dear mother and my dear mother in law. You both have toiled and labored and loved your children with all your heart...S and I are only beginning to understand how much.

And this is to encourage all you mamas out there...you are changing the world, one heartbeat at a time.

Valentines Day 2010

Valentines Day has been one of those times that over the last few years we have decided to make a bigger deal and have fun, family memories. Not so much because we have to (because Hallmark says) but it's a fun excuse to lavish special memories on each other. So this year we did so again last night. We started out our valentines dinner with having our "dessert first" -- something sweeter than honey. Our love letters from the Lord Jesus. I had filled a fancy heart chocolate box that Steven had given me a few years ago (it was so beautiful I had to keep it!) with scriptures on love in the Bible. Each person took a rolled up paper with the verse on it, and we went around the table and read it.

After that we had dinner and cupcakes. And we got to open our chocolates from Nona and Papa. Then the special homemade cards and little gifts began. The boys each got a pure silver quarter. As you can tell by the pictures...it was a very special time!

Slideshow of B's birthday

Beka's Birthday Dress that Mama made her.

My little precious ones...
Thanks W. for your gift!
Our beautiful princess
Happy Birthday to you!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After working a good share of the day in the kitchen with B, we have a nice hot meal to enjoy by candlelight tonight. Then, I decided to work on her birthday slideshow, cause I was so exhausted! She had such a fun time. We had a "fancy" theme, so we used my fine china and the girls dressed up and looked like little china dolls. She had a fancy tart for her "cake". MamaMo and Bapa came to enjoy the night with us, as well as Josh and Stefanie. I think everyone had a great time! The children had made her several homemade gifts, handmade purses and clay items. You will see several of them in the slideshow.
Slideshow of Olympic Night
~I have had a busy few days here. Yesterday, spur of the moment, I decided to sew, and sewed B a jumper with a ruffle on the bottom (I think she will be thrilled!). Last night I did some shopping for B's cowgirl birthday on Saturday, complete with finding 8 pink cowboy hats at the dollar store, and pink bandanas. Then Stef came over while S worked and we watched "The Village". Today I have to run into town and return library books and order her cake..something with horses. Then prayer meeting tonight. Tomorrow is B's actual birthday, so we will have her family party. The children are busy making their own creations for B (air dry clay figures and sewing bags etc.) I also in the next couple of days have to do some research on horses to be ready to teach our class. And of course Saturday is the big day...the girl's Keepers at Home meeting combined with B's birthday party. Also it is the boys first Contenders for the Faith meeting as well. Never a dull moment around here. :)
Well, let's see we had our ancient Olympic game night in September? I am just now getting around to finishing a slideshow for it. :) But, as the old saying goes better late than never, so enjoy!
This week...
Only have a sec here, today is a busy packing day. But, I wanted to briefly update what has happened the last few days here. Our dearest friends, the M family, had a very serious accident and we are so thankful for God's sparing mercies. R was out working as usual on the property and a guard from his big mower came crashing down on him. We estimate it was about 1,000 pounds that hit him in the chest. After calling 911 and S, it was determined there were no broken bones, but he was of course in alot of pain. His wife K drove up from NC to be with him. He went in for xrays, and praise the Lord there were no broken bones, internal bleeds, or damaged organs. Surely the Lord's angels were protecting our dear friend. They have spent the last 3 nights here until he felt able to make the drive back to NC. We are just praising the Lord for His mercies in sparing R.
Today I will be busy packing us up to head to AR very early in the morning. We are looking forward to the time with family and relaxation out on the lake. We plan on returning Tuesday.
I am posting a video of my dad and brother's recent adventure. Dad had business out in Colorado. While there he got to spend some great time with my brother, who will be leaving this fall for Air Force boot camp. This was one of their escapades...
Memorial Day 09 slideshow
Well, I finally am getting this slideshow up of our fun Memorial Day trip. We first went to Whitewater Falls then on to Rainbow Falls. It was a six mile round trip strenuous hike to get to the top of Rainbow Falls..but it was specatacular. I am sorry the pics do not even begin to do it justice. It was so huge, like Niagra Falls or something. The wind it was creating sent a large mist that blew over us in the most refreshing way. Gabe decided to get crazy and brace the elements. He climbed right down there and you will see that in the pictures. Travis and Anne Marie were with us, as well as the Avila family and my dad. It was a great day. Enjoy the slideshow. Grandma, maybe you could get over to Lou's to see it?
