Do you recognize this couple?

Happy Anniversary to my dear husband! Today marks 14 years since I said..."I will...I will...and I DO!" And I would do it a hundred times over again! How blessed we have been by the Lord.

Thankful for one year...

This past Thursday marked the one year anniversary of our arriving here in South Carolina. It has been a year of many wonderful “firsts”. We have completed a whole year of the changes of this beautiful country called the “Upstate”…the pleasant summer, the crisp, colorful fall, the refreshing and cool winter, and now the gorgeous and blossoming spring. We have feasted spiritually in a way that has met our souls longings. We feel so thankful for the shepherd that God has placed over us. He is as Greatheart was in Pilgrim’s Progress. Our weeks are filled with rich fellowship of the brethren. S’s job continues to proper and the Lord has enabled him to find a special niche in this new company making him very valuable to them.

Yes, we have so many things to be thankful for. We are so grateful that the Lord brought us here to this place. Never once have we regretted the move we made. The Lord has abundantly met all our needs. To Him alone be the glory!

Late Night Blogging...

It has been so long since I have updated. My poor blog has suffered from my busyness. But I shall try to appease it by posting some little niceties of our pastimes of late. Ahem….me,me,me,me. (ok, that is a joke)

Seriously, I think I will just highlight in bullet point fashion. Remember I am married to an design engineer.

· E just lost her second tooth. She looks so cute with her two bottom teeth missing! We were at prayer meeting tonight and she took her bonnet string and yanked on her tooth with it. Mommy and her had to excuse ourselves to do some teeth pulling in the bathroom. She tucked it under her pillow excitedly awaiting Daddy’s surprise in the morning. We don’t do the “tooth fairy” but we do a daddy exchange. :)
· I have been doing a lot of studying lately on the adrenal glands and adrenal fatigue. I have been reading a book called Adrenal Fatigue – the 21st Century Stress Syndrome. I have known for awhile that I have had problems with my adrenals, but I took his test in the book and discovered the diagnosis of “severe adrenal fatigue”. This man is an expert and I have learned so much! I have started his recovery program and am very excited to see if the Lord blesses it.

· We are nearing the countdown for the end of school! I think we will be through May 15th, BUT that has to be approved by the principle first. :) It will be nice to have a break. I am already thinking about next year and going to be pondering our plans.

· We are enjoying the most beautiful spring weather. My poor sweet little garden that we planted a few weeks ago…is now deceased. Well, the lion’s share of it is. You see, no sooner had we gotten them planted and we heard of a cold snap coming. We tried to cover it, but to no avail. Our poor little plants just withered and died. All but the items in the middle. So, now we have purchased fresh green lovelies to try, try again. I am thinking of putting them in the soil tomorrow, if I have the time. We will have several different kinds of peppers, green beans, tomatoes, cucumbers, melons, a chive and a parsley plant, and some strawberries. I don’t expect to get much in the strawberry realm this year, but it will be fun for the children to watch..plus I just love strawberry plants. When we get out to our land I would like to get a blueberry bush. I am trying to petition for some dairy goats right now, but not getting very far with my sweet husband. J Ah, springtime…it brings out the homesteader in me.

· So here it is, nearly 1am and I am still typing away at this. I will really regret this in the morning. But, what can you do when your dear husband offers for us to go out with some friends for icecream? I mean, you just can’t pass up a chance to get a blizzard type ice cream treat loaded with M&Ms can you? So we snuggled down into bed tonight, turned off the lights, hubby began snoring and I…well, my mind began to go. I began to think of the newsy email I could write to my friend. And so, I decided to get up and be a night owl for awhile. I wrote that newsy email and then…went back to bed? Nah! I really haven’t blogged in awhile. So here I am...the clock is striking one. Actually, our clock has problems, it says the right time, but bongs the wrong time. LOL! But, it is supposed to be striking one right now. So, now I think it is so late I am starting to ramble.

With that said before the rooster (or rather the H bird) signals that it is morning time, I will bid you adieu!

A new life on earth, and new life in eternity

This past week has been very significant in the life of our congregation...
~ We had a joyous birth of a new covenant child into our church family. He is our friends' first baby and it has been an exciting time.
~We had a death of a dear sister in the Lord, who left a husband and three sons behind. Our hearts are sorrowing with our brother and his family, and yet we rejoice for the one who has passed on to an eternity with Jesus. The visitation is tonight and the funeral is tomorrow.

A new life, and an end of life all in one week. Yesterday, our pastor preached on "The Love of God" and how we can trace that divine, compassionate, overwhelming love of God in every situation of the believers life. We can easily see it with the joyous times, but in the sorrowing times it is there just the same, in the most beautiful, tender way. I am reminded of the scripture that speaks of the day of ones death being better than the day of ones birth. For has not our sister's eternal supreme joy just begun? An eternity of communion with her altogether lovely Savior. Our pastor's sermon was so very timely and a huge blessing to our church body. To hear his sermon click HERE.

Dis n' Dat

I am playing around with a new look for my blog. It might take me awhile to get it how I want it. It's kind of like moving around furniture. It feels so fresh and fun to change it around with a new look. That is, if you like that sort of thing. My mother used to change the furniture around when I was growing up quite frequently...so I love to do it now too! Anyhow, this is not the final product, but don't have any more time right now and not sure when I will get back to it.

~S's parents are coming for a long weekend in a few days...we are excited to see Nona and Papa! ~My friend at church just had her first baby this morning and so tomorrow I get to go cuddle a baby for a little bit...fun!
~ I sewed curtains for the girls room with two contrasting fabrics...a floral and stripes! They turned out really cute, and today I made a matching pillow for each girl and a little throw pillow with a bow on it, to coodinate with the curtains. Maybe I will take a picture at some point.
~E and I went in and had eye appointments yesterday. It looks like our new glasses will be in tomorrow or Thurs. so we are looking forward to that.

That's all for now...
oh, do you know that SM's family dog has a facebook page? Email me if you want the address! LOL!

ok, I am going to put up another pic and see if what Kelly said really works. She told me that when I upload the pic if I hit "centered" it won't put the words down the side. I am going to post a picture of my two girls and their new Keepers at Home group. They do not have their member patches sewn on yet and there is one more girl that is joining us this next month that is not in this picture. Ok then, so let's just see here...

...and it worked! Thanks Kelly, you are a whiz at this blogging stuff. Check out her blog in my sidebar.

question

Can anyone tell me why blogger puts my words down the side of my picture, even when I try to move the words down below (For example, my post just under this one)? Thanks!

I am glad it is Friday!

I have not updated in awhile so thought I would say hello. This week has been a good week, though busy again. With school and all the normalcies of everyday life, there is never a dull moment around here. Let's see, a few newsy items...
~ I have continued to enjoy the company and help of SM. I am really going to miss her when she moves in with her brother. (Who, by the way, has a house in the works right now).
~ The children are doing well in their school and we are in the homestretch and ready for a much needed summer break! We have had alot of rain this spring which is so wonderful after the drought. But, I must say I have been really thankful for the sunny days.
~ S has had church meetings last night and tonight, so I have been trying to do some fun things with the children. Yesterday we went to the library and checked out some books and fun videos. Last night they enjoyed watching the old Shirley Temple "The Little Princess". I had not seen that in years!
~Tonight they are looking forward to a really yummy dessert that I promised them if they completed their responsibility charts through the week. We are having the Duggar Family ice cream dessert recipe...it has ice cream sandwiches, butterfinger candy bars, chocolate and caramel syrup and cool whip..all of these things layered...YUM!
~Today I cleaned the house so everything sparkles. The children might have a touch of a bug. H woke up this morning throwing up a bit, slept quite a bit this morning, then woke to eat a big meal. So I am watching them all to see what progresses here. I think she will go to bed very early tonight. For now, I am heading outside to enjoy this beautiful spring weather and play a game of ball with the children.
