JJ's gourmet cooking for us--an asian shrimp. It was YUM!
The Athenians
Happy Bday Bro!I thought it was time to post a “this and that” post. Life has continued to be very, very busy around here. Our Olympic night was a huge, smashing success! Everyone loved it, and had such a great time. The Spartans and the Athenians tied so we had a tie breaker game and the Spartans ruled (aka, S, me and dear little Hbo). I will try and get pictures up when I can. For now there are a few above.
We surprised my brother after the Olympic night and had a birthday party for him. We enjoyed his time here so much. He will turn 21 while at basic so we thought we would give him and early birthday.
S’s Uncle John passed away a few days ago, so we ended up taking a whirlwind trip out to NC. We left Tues and returned late last night (Wed). We enjoyed spending time with friends and family (some have not seen in years!). The burial was a full military ceremony. I have never attended one before and it was quite something. The slow salutes, 21 gun salute, playing of taps, and presenting Aunt Iris with the flag really brought the tears. It was amazing to watch these young men in the army now giving such honor to one that had served our country many years ago. We will all miss Uncle John.
S’s parents are planning on coming to visit us sometime in the next few days, on their way back through as they head home. We are looking forward to their visit.
Today has been spent recovering (we are all so very tired and we have colds), doing school and cleaning up. The boys cleaned out the van for me, as well as several other things. They were my right hand helpers today. The girls helped too. I am thankful that SM will be coming to help me tomorrow, so hopefully we will be all caught up after then.
G’day everyone!
