My husband's Aunt

We are heading out in the morning to NC, just S and myself. It will be a day trip to NC for S's aunt's burial. Below is her obituary. "So teach us to number our days that we may apply our hearts to wisdom". Proverbs 90:12

DEEP RUN - Florence Ervin Mallard, 89 of Deep Run passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2010. Born Sept. 7, 1920, in Jones County to Pompie and Zilphia Elizabeth Gray Ervin, she was a member of Friendship F.W.B. Church, Mallardtown. She worked with the Jones County Draft Board and retired from a local accounting firm. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and had an avid interest in history, genealogy and journaling all her life. Florence was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Leo C. Mallard, Sr.; sisters, Mary Alice Ervin and Helen Ervin Stroud; brother, John Henry Ervin; and stepdaughter, Edna Doster. Survi-vors include her brother, H. Douglas Ervin and wife Patsy of Hot Springs, Ark.; sister, Glenda Ervin Murray of Belvedere, S.C.; stepson, Leo C. Mallard, Jr. and wife Mary of Kinston; several nieces and nephews; numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews. No visitation is planned, but a graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 8, 2010, at Friendship F.W.B Church Cemetery, Mallardtown Community, Trenton, N.C. with Reverend Charles Love officiating. Honorary pallbearers are John H. Ervin, Steven D. Ervin, Woodrow R. Stroud, Harvey W. Taylor and James W. Taylor. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Moseley-Bright Chapter of DAR in Kinston, or to a charity of your choice. Ar-rangements by Howard-Carter Funeral Home.
