On the 21st of July, the south celebrates the anniversary of the Battle of Manasses that was in 1861. This was the battle where Jackson earned his name “Stonewall”.
In honor of this S has put together an event at our house. He is calling it “Guns and Generals”. And let me tell you folks, this is an event. We are all excited to host around 30 people Friday evening. To begin with we are going to have a gun shoot at 5pm. Several people are bringing their guns and ammo and we are going to target shoot and one of the men is bring skeets as well. Around 6:30 we are having dinner: hotdogs, potato salad, green salad, chips, bakes beans, brownies. And then about 8pm we are going to have a showing of the movie “God’s and Generals”. A friend is bringing his projector so we can show it up on our wall as a big screen. We are going to borrow chairs and set up our living room with rows and rows of chairs. The movie is 3 ½ hours long, so it will be a late, but very fun night!
